Rev. John C. Gidney was a native of Polkville, North Carolina. He moved to Buffalo, NY in 1949. He was an Army veteran of World War WII. As a result of his service, he was awarded 5 Bronze Stars. He was a member of the Calvary Christian Methodist Episcopal Church and he worked with numerous ministries in the city.
Rev. Gidney was 75 years of age at the time of his death on December 28, 1994. He is buried at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
