Ever since I was a child, I always had a strong work ethic and a desire to help others. At the age of 16, I worked multiple jobs that always incorporated children- something very near and dear to my heart. One of the first stepping stones where I discovered my passion for children and families was while working at Women's and Children's Hospital as an Environmental Service Aide.

On a daily basis, I found myself surrounded by the pain and suffering of children and their families as these sickly children under went procedures toward their healing process in life-and for some in death.
I always made it my business, even as an environmental worker to go far beyond that to make a small different in the lives of those I came in contact with. I was known for my comedic gestures that always managed to place a smile on the faces of ailing children and frustrated parents. I gave the parents words of encouragement, anointed the children rooms with songs that I created to make them smile. After receiving many positive comments and accolades from parents of these children, The Women and Children's Hospital recognized my gift and granted me a hospital service award.

In 1992, I felt the need to do more with my passion of working with children. So, I sought after one of my most desired long-term goals. With full support of my husband and family, I took a leap of faith and opened BoBo's Group Family Day Care in the upper and lower apartments of my home. I felt determined to provided children with a safe, fun, healthy learning environment so they were prepared to make easy transition into the next stage of their educational journey. I am proud to have accomplished those goals successfully for the past 22 years. While educating young children in their development, I noticed the high amount of legal difficulties that some of my daycare parents and other providers experienced. Shortly after, I became a distributor and avid member of Legal Shield- a membership that provides access to AV-rated attorney's across the country. I still use and speak very highly of this service today.

By becoming a small-business owner, I discovered that with great success come obstacles that can sometimes cause anxiety and tension. The stresses we face everyday stem from tribulations associated with life and all of its changes. My enthusiasm to help others combined with my own desires to seek out a way to make a difference led to me becoming a Certified Reflexologist. I later teamed up with Westemeier Martin Dental Care, where I currently provide reflexology sessions to patients during their dental procedures. Aside from that, I also work from my in-home office, in which I provide private sessions to clients on the weekend.

And, of late I began a new business called Organic Gold Coffee. This new endeavor is one that I am very dedicated and excited about. Organic Gold is in position with my healthy living promoted lifestyle. It allows me to provide healthy choices for her clientele. It also allows more time for me to spend with my elderly parents, my grandchildren, and my family.

Even though I have reached many of my goals, I still am working. I dream of one day starring in my very own one woman comedy show, written and produced by myself. I am proud to be a local entrepreneur, business mogul, and friend. I use my gifts and talents that God gave me and share them with the world. I am beyond honored to receive such a wonderful award and such distinguished recognition for doing the things that I enjoy and love.
