Debra Johnson

Debra Mae Johnson was born in Buffalo, New York in 1957. She is the daughter of James and Annie Johnson. She is the second of four children. She attended School 17, School 80 and graduated from Kensington High School in 1975. She attended Canisius College from 1975-77 and graduated thirty years later from Canisius. She has a B.A. in communications. Currently, she is considering Graduate School at University at Buffalo in Library Science and Information. She grew up at St. Luke AME Zion Church. While attending was an active members in youth Choir, Mass Choir, Usher Board, Sunday School teacher, Class Leader, Youth Builder President, Lay Council President, Women's Home and Missionary Life member[semiColon] Young Peoples Congress(YPC) President of the A.M.E. Zion Church Western New York Conference, and Lay Council Coordinator of the Buffalo District~none~~Her primary interest is the development and expansion of the Harriet Tubman Memorial Library. The library is located in Auburn, New York. She is the Director, the Harriert Tubman Memorial Project. Each year there is a Harriet Tubman Retreat held at the Library in July where individuals donate books and money towards the development of the library. She is now in the process of writing a strategic plan for the library.~none
