Harold S. Cardwell, Jr. was born and raised in Buffalo on November 18, 1962. He is a product of the Buffalo Public School system, graduating from Hutchinson Technical Central High School. He attended Buffalo State College and Erie County Community College earning an associate's degree in Business. Mr. Cardwell has earned an educational certificate with Erie BOCES, and a project management certificate through the SUNY School of Management. Mr. Cardwell has mentored Buffalo Public School students through the student enrichment and life goal programs. He participated as a mentor in the 'Life's Foundational Tool Box Series' which educated young men on how to prepare themselves with the correct tools for life circumstances.

Mr. Cardwell is employed with the Buffalo Urban Renewal Agency and serves as the Contractor Compliance Officer for Section 3 and MWBE, and the Fair Housing Officer. Aside from his main employment, Harold was a young entrepreneur, and was never afraid of hard work. He began his landscaping, snowplowing and home repair services nearly 40 years ago and takes pride in being known as one of the hardest working men in Buffalo. It's not unusual to see Mr. Cardwell dressed in a business suit and tie by day, than transform into carpenter jeans, t-shirt and steel-toe boots by night.

Mr. Cardwell will celebrate his 25th wedding anniversary this year to Tracy. Out of this union, they were blessed with two wonderful children (Charlotte and Charles). Harold believes a strong family unit produces successful citizens and he has always been very supportive of his children in everything they do. He is proud about not missing ANY of his daughters dance recitals or competitions, and coaching his son through baseball, basketball, and track and field.

A life-long member of St. John Baptist Church, Mr. Cardwell has served in many different capacities on various boards and committees. Harold has always had a love for bowling since he was very young. Harold is very well-known for his unique bowling style and he is very competitive as he competes in various leagues and tournaments. It is Harold's competitive spirit and great skill that keeps others asking him to sub or be on their team!
