Uncrowned Community Builders

Ms. Barbee was a nationally known gospel singer. Her husband Rev. Frank was the pastor of Community Baptist Church where she served as music minister. Mrs. Barbee sang for political, civic, and philanthropic affairs and recorded music with the Friendship Baptist Church choir. An alto soloist she began singing at the age of 5. At the time of her death she was still singing, at the Erie County Holding Center with prison ministries. Other groups she sang with were Jenkins Choral singers, the Mass choir, Smith singers, Four Songsters and Oldies but Goodies. Ms. Barbee was 61 years of age at the time of her passing.
