Robert P. Talbert, Jr. was the son of Robert Talbert, gold rush pioneer and head of the influential Talbert Family of Buffalo, New York. This family was one of the early Black settlers of Buffalo.
Robert Jr. was married to Henrietta Burnett, the sister of Mary Burnett, who married his brother William.
Robert died of liver cancer on October 26, 1904. He was 43 years, 11 months and 10 days old, which would put his birth date circa October 16, 1860. He is buried at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Buffalo, New York.
