Mr. Hardiman, also known as "Flash", was born in Memphis, Tennessee. He was the chief of planning and technical support for the Buffalo division of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development from 1969 to 1978. He encouraged minority students to pursue higher education and helped them obtain athletic scholarships at United Negro Fund affiliated universities throughout the South.
He was awarded the Family Life Award for his service in this area. He was a former local and regional officer for the NAACP. He was also mentioned in Who's Who in the East; Who's Who in New York State and Who's Who in Education.
Mr. Hardiman was 76 years of age at the time of his passing. He died on August 29, 1991. He is buried in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
