Carmen Francine May Jones was born March 18, 1949 in Olean, New York and moved to Niagara Falls, as a young girl, and attended various schools in Niagara Falls. Carmen owned several businesses throughout the years; her last and best known, was Sasstique on Third Street. Carmen May passed away on January 11, 2010. She is best remembers by the co-founders of the Uncrowned Queens Institute for her sale of the lovely Annie Lee ornaments. Carmen participated with the Uncrowned Queens Institute at most of their international conferences and at many of their own community affairs, such as the Uncrowned Queens books signings. We first met Carmine at a fund raiser for Crystal Peoples, State Assemblywoman from Buffalo. We hope that her friends and family will continue to add to this brief biography of Carmen as she will be missed.
